Rate Case Applications

As the utility regulator, our mission is to ensure that a utility’s rates are just and reasonable.  A rate case proceeding is the formal process conducted by the Commission when a utility company files an application requesting an increase in rates due to rising costs to provide utility service.

The DCPSC has approved a Modified Enhanced Multiyear Rate Plan (Modified EMRP) from Pepco that will gradually increase rates for electrical distribution service in the District.
The DCPSC has approved a settlement agreement that provides for a rate increase that’s 45% less (approximately $16 million) than originally requested by WGL.
