The Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia approved five action items at its May 27, 2020 Open Meeting. The matters include:

Formal Case Actions:

1. Formal Case No.977, the Order regarding Washington Gas Light Company’s Natural Gas Quality of Service Standards Annual Report for Calendar Year 2019. Order No. 20359, accepts Washington Gas Light Company’s Natural Gas Quality of Service Standards annual report for calendar year 2019 as filed.

2. Formal Case No. 988, the Order regarding Verizon Washington, DC Inc.’s Request for DC Universal Service Trust Fund Funding Application for the First Quarter of 2020. Order No.20356, grants Verizon Washington DC’s request for DC Universal Trust Fund funding for the first quarter.

3. Formal Case No. 1125, the Order regarding the District Department of Energy and Environment’s Invoices for the Second Quarter FY 2020. Order No.20357, approves the District Department of Energy and Environment’s invoices for the second quarter FY 2020.

4. Formal Case No. 1154, the Order regarding the Sierra Club’s Petition to Intervene Out of Time. Order No.20354, granted Sierra Club’s petition to intervene out of time and motion for leave to file a response.

5. Formal Case No. 1162, the Order regarding the Office of the Office of the People’s Counsel for the District of Columbia’s Motion for Clarification. Order No. 20355, granted the motion for clarification in the Office of the People’s Counsel for the District of Columbia’s motion for clarification.

New Business:

1. Formal Case No. 1164, In the Matter of an Inquiry into the Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on District Utilities and Consumers. Order No.20358, opens and inquiry to examine the merits of the Office of the People’s Counsel for the District of Columbia’s Emergency Petition and Request for Expedited Treatment Requesting an Investigation into the Comprehensive Options Available to the District’s Utility Ratepayers/Consumers in Response to the Negative Financial Impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on public utilities and District ratepayers.
