Join us in welcoming Melissa Persaud, our newest Attorney Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. Melissa was born in Guyana but has lived in New Jersey with her family for most of her life. Before moving to the District, she previously served as a judicial clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court.
Melissa graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where she was an editor of the Journal of Law and Policy as well as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society. Before attending law school, Melissa spent two years in Shanghai, China teaching English and biology.
She enjoys cooking, meditation and exercising. Some of her other favorite activities include going to the theater and attending comedy shows, which she hopes she can continue doing in the near future.
