Veronica M. Ahern

Veronica M. AhernThe Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia is pleased to announce that Veronica M. (“Ronnie”) Ahern became Executive Director of the Commission, effective on November 1, 2015. She had been serving as Interim Executive Director since January 2015.

Ronnie joined the Commission in 2009 as an Attorney Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. In 2011, she became Deputy General Counsel. Prior to joining the Commission she had been a member of the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP, which she joined in 1988. Before Nixon Peabody, she had been a partner at Chadbourne Parke LLP.

Before private practice Ronnie was employed by the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, where she was Director of the Office of International Affairs and a charter member of the Senior Executive Service.

Ronnie is a graduate of Rosemont College and Georgetown University Law Center. She serves on the Board of the Connelly School in Potomac, Maryland and as an Honorary Trustee of Rosemont College, where she served as Chair of the Board from 1997 to 2007. She lives in Chevy Chase, D.C..
