The PowerPath DC Pilot Projects Governance Board was established by the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia (DCPSC) to oversee the development and implementation of innovative energy pilot projects. Formed as part of the
PowerPath DC initiative, the board ensures that these projects align with the vision of a modern, sustainable, and resilient energy grid that promotes equitable access for all District residents.

Designing and constructing a large community heat pump system to replace fossil fuel-based space conditioning systems, to enhance energy sustainability, achieve economies of scale, and support the city’s carbon neutrality goals
Demonstrating how advanced inverter technology and solar distributed energy resources can enhance grid sustainability, maximize hosting capacity, and address integration challenges while providing benefits to participants
Creating an innovative, multi-customer, neighborhood-scale microgrid demonstration project to show how community-based renewable energy systems can provide essential grid services
