Vanetta Wells

THE COMMISSION ANNOUNCES VANETTA WELLS AS A PROGRAM ANALYST FOR THE OFFICE OF TECHNICAL AND REGULATORY ANALYSIS
 
On September 30, 2018, Ms. Vanetta Wells was selected by the Public Service Commission (Commission) as a Program Analyst in the Office of Technical and Regulatory Analysis (OTRA).  Ms. Wells initially joined the Commission in May 1989, and served under the leadership of the Agency’s Comptroller as a Budget Assistant.  She later advanced to the position of Sr. Accounting and Disbursing Analyst.  In 2004, Ms. Wells, was promoted to the Budget Analyst position.  She served in this position until September 29, 2018.  During her tenure as a Budget Analyst the District of Columbia Government restructured the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and transferred Ms. Wells to the Economic Development and Regulation Cluster (EDRC). She continued to serve in the Commission’s Office of the Agency Fiscal Officer, and her office location remained within the Commission.
 
Ms. Wells was born in Washington, DC, and raised in the Fairmont Heights, Maryland area.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with honors, from the Washington Adventist University (formerly known as Columbia Union College), located in Takoma Park, Maryland.
 
In her spare time, Vanetta enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children, and “breaking bread” with family, close friends and colleagues.  She also serves in various capacities at her church located in Southeast, Washington DC, including serving on the Board of Trustees, a member of the ministry for women and youth, and a part of the church’s outreach ministry.
