In Formal Case No. 977, by Order No. 22461, the Commission directed staff to convene three technical conferences with Washington Gas Light Company (“WGL”) and the Office of People’s Counsel (“OPC”) to address recurring inconsistencies in data reporting and outline measurable improvements to internal controls.
The technical conferences were to cover potential improvements to notification and data reporting, record-keeping, technician training, and retention of both the Natural Gas Quality Service Standards (“NGQSS”) and Leak Identification, Detection, and Repair, as well as Odor Complaints (“LIDAROC”).
In addition, the Order directed at the conclusion of the technical conferences, WGL to include “in the fourth quarter Natural Gas Quality of Service Standard Report and the 2025 Annual Natural Gas Quality of Service Standard Report detailed information outlining its improvement plan and explaining the steps it will be implementing to address the issues identified in Order No. 22461.
