As of April 1st, the solar energy systems eligible for the District’s RPS solar requirement include 14,412 solar systems (including 379 CREFs) in the District. Total District solar certifications have increased by about 17% compared to the same period last year. In addition, 3,867 solar energy systems outside of the District are eligible—up about 14% from a year ago due to systems in Maryland on cross-border feeders. The total reported capacity associated with these systems is about 291 MW, of which roughly 226 MW is located within the District. Recent pricing on Flett Exchange show DC SRECs are currently trading around $430. The recent bid price on SRECTrade is $440.
